Not every Camp Chair is equal – choose the best for your bottom
You can’t go on a camping trip without packing something for sitting on the ground comfortably. This blog details the best camping chairs for kids and adults, whether you’re looking for a camping chair that won’t break the bank, or a luxurious camping throne! I will also go through the best ways to care for and store your chair so you can make sure it lives for as long as possible. They are a key part of so many essential camping activities, sitting around the fire, toasting marshmallows, chatting with friends and family, and eating stove-cooked meals.

The cheapest options
There are lots of affordable camping chairs out there, but some are better quality than others. Although it can be tempting to buy the first supermarket option that you come across, remember that cheap camping chairs can break easily. Think about it this way- replacing a broken camping chair will waste more money than having bought a slightly better quality one in the first place. That being said, I’ll show you which camping chairs you can buy for £10-£15 without compromising on comfort or durability.
At only £12.99 or 2 for £20, the Decathlon camping folding armchair is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a low-priced camping chair. This can come in two colours, dark petrol blue and sand. This chair is compact once folded up, with a volume of 26L and a built-in strap for comfort when transporting. Although this is a great cheap chair that is also durable and fairly light, it has been reviewed as being slightly smaller than other options out there, with a seat height of 41cm.

You could also go for the Eurohike Peak Folding Chair , which, at the time of writing, can be found on sale for £10. This is another lightweight, comfortable simple camping chair, and is slightly larger than the Decathlon folding armchair (dimensions: 52 x 52 x 85cm). It comes in lots of different colours- red, green, blue and grey. This is perfect if you want to avoid the inevitable fighting over chairs- getting kids differently coloured ones means they can easily tell whose is whose.
The Eurohike folding chair also has a drinks holder and extended arm rests. Be sure to look out for a drinks holder when you’re buying a camping chair. It is a feature you’ll find is especially useful. It can be used for holding your water on unstable ground while you’re eating, holding a mug of hot chocolate, or just for keeping any trinkets in such as lip balms and sunglasses in.

The lightest option for all the adventurers out there!
The Trekology Chair Ultra Lightweight Camping Chair is great for anyone looking for a super lightweight camping chair. This chair is only 960g, but also provides sturdy support and has a weight capacity of up to 135kg. At £32.79 on Amazon, it is also fairly affordable. Although, as this is one of the most lightweight camping chairs out there, it will inevitably be slightly less comfortable than the larger and therefore heavier options.
The most comfortable chairs
If you have enough space in the car, and are willing to spend a bit more, there are loads of super comfortable camping chairs out there. You could go for a moon chair, which has a round structure, rather than traditional seat shape with arm rests. Although these are especially comfortable chairs to curl up by the fire in, their round shape does mean that they don’t have a cup holder.
If you’re looking for a luxury camping experience, you could go for the nemo stargaze luxury recliner camping chair, which actually acts more like a hammock than a chair! It allows you to rock and recline, offering the ultimate comfort whilst camping. Just imagine relaxing around your campfire in this chair after a long day of exhausting camping activities. The only downsides are that it isn’t very compact once packed up, and can also be slightly unstable, especially on uneven terrain.

The dinner-in-front-of-the-tv of camping chairs
You can also get camping chairs which have a little table that swings over your lap that you can eat your meal on. The Naturehike Folding Chair with Side Tablehas a little table, a much more reliable way of eating your dinner than trying to eat it on your lap. The mini table can also fold away, so you can use the chair like normal until mealtimes. Bringing them camping also means you don’t necessarily have to pack a camping table and can save more space in the car.
Inflatable camping chairs
Inflatable camping chairs are another super comfortable option. Chairs such as the Intex Inflatable Pull Out Camping Chair[are lovely to sit back and relax into. It also contains a cup holder, which is handy. Inflatable chairs are especially useful if you’re camping with a child or infant and would like to be able to hold and cuddle with them more comfortably than on a normal camping chair. Kids camping chairs
It’s also important that you get different camping chairs for kids depending on their ages. Although, this doesn’t mean you have to buy hundreds of camping chairs- when one of them grows out of the camping chair, you can just hand it down to the next child. One of the cheapest options is the Eurohike Frog Kids’ Camping Chair, which comfortable and also has a super cute frog design that kids will love. This chair is super fun, and is easily transportable, making it perfect for camping.

How to look after your camping chairs
Looking after camping chairs properly is essential if you want to make sure you get the most out of them. When you go out for the day, remember to store the chairs under an awning (for a guide to all things gazebo and awning related, check out my blog here) or anywhere else that is dry. This stops your chairs from getting damaged, and also means you don’t accidentally sit on a damp chair when you get back from your camping day out.

I hope that this blog will help you to pick out the perfect camping chairs for your family, whether you want something cheap, luxurious or lightweight.
