Fox Wood is a stunning woodland campsite with a focus on family Woodland Tent camping at its very heart.
All the Woodland Tent camping is located in a mature and magical oak forest in the bottom of a sheltered valley.
Every woodland glade has a square metal firepit for cooking and socialising. Every campfire is suitable for group gatherings.
There is a central parking track which provides easy access to all the camping pitches.
No cars are allowed in the forest, so you’ll find wheelbarrows are provided to assist with getting all your camping gear from your car to pitch.
As you can see from the map below, all camping pitches are easily accessed from the central parking track. No pitches are far from your car.
We can offer a chargeable “gear to pitch” site buggy service if you require assistance. The buggy can take a boot load at at time from your car to your pitch. Please note this service only operates up to 7pm.
What are the different pitches to book?
A Woodland Tent Pitch includes:
- Bringing and pitching your own tent (standard is a 4 person tent, but two 2 man tents are good)
- Up to 4 people, with a maximum of 2 adults per pitch. You can add extra children to the pitch cost when booking
- If your tent is larger than a 4 man, then please add an upgrade in the extras section.
- You are not allocated a specific pitch, so first to arrive gets first to choose.
- If you are camping in a group of 4 families or more, then a glade will be reserved under your Group Name and will be of a suitable size to fit everyone camping under the same Group Name. We do our best to reserve specific glades, but this is not guaranteed.
- Allocation for 1 car in the car park (specific parking spaces are not provided) per pitch booking.
- There are NO electric hook up pitches available.

A Campervan Meadow Pitch includes:
- Bringing your own Campervan and pitching in the meadow in a pre-allocated pitch
- A Campervan Meadow Pitch includes up to 4 people, with a maximum of 2 adults. You can add extra children to the pitch cost when booking.
- Add a gazebo / shelter if you are pitching a shelter to go next to your van.
- Your Campervan is your allocated car for your booking. Please book a car as an extra if you are bringing another car to site
- We allocate a campfire within the forest if you are camping with friends who are booking a Woodland Tent Pitch OR provide a firebowl to have a campfire next to your Campervan if you prefer. You can decide this when you arrive.
- There are NO electric hook up pitches available.
- You can pitch near other Campervan Meadow Pitches, Woodland Tent Pitches and the Glamping Emperor Tent.

A Glamped Bell Tent (great for group gatherings) includes:
- A really lovely sized 5 meter Bell Tent pitched out in the forest and ready to start your camping break.
- Coir mats throughout which keep the ground lovely and warm with natural fibers.
- 4 single beds, which can be put together to make doubles. All with fresh covers. But you will need to bring your own duvets, pillows, sleeping bags and blankets.
- Separate front door mat and inside floor mats to help keep your home clean and tidy during your stay.
- Inside ambient lighting (battery powered)
- Outside solar battery fairy lights which light up your front door porch at dusk and into the evening.
- A canopy porch to provide a dry space and shelter for your entrance.
- A bucket to put your shoes in – no footwear in the tent please.
- A metal fire pit for your campfire and for sitting around and cooking on.
- There are NO electric hook up pitches available.
- Allocation for 1 car in the car park per pitch booking (specific parking spaces are not provided).
- Wheelbarrows are available for getting your items from your car to the Bell Tent.
- There is NO gazebo, table or chairs with this pitch option.

A Glamped Emperor Tent (for single families) includes:
- A super large 6 meter Emperor Bell Tent pitched in a private glade and located down a secret path off the meadow.
- Coir mats throughout which keep your ground lovely and warm with natural fibers.
- Soft rugs by the beds for cosy toes.
- 2 Futon beds which are side-by-side to provide a double and 2 additional single beds for the children.
- All with fresh covers. But you will need to bring your own duvets, pillows, sleeping bags and blankets.
- Inside ambient lighting (battery powered) with a chandelier light on remote control so you can stay in bed while you turn your lights off.
- Outside solar fairy lights which light up your front door porch at dusk and into the evening.
- A canopy porch to provide a dry space and shelter for your entrance.
- A bucket to put your shoes in – no footwear in the tent please.
- A metal fire pit for your campfire and for sitting around and cooking on. There are camp chairs and log ring tables by the campfire for your comfort.
- Outside there is a gazebo with a table and chairs and a storage cupboard for your food and drinks.
- There are NO electric hook up pitches available.
- Allocation for 1 car in the car park per pitch booking (specific parking spaces are not provided).
- Wheelbarrows are available for getting your items from your car to the Bell Tent.
- You can have friends pitch with you by booking separate Campervan Meadow Pitches and a single Woodland Tent Pitch.

What facilities are there?
Facilities onsite include:
- Toilets (cold water only)
- Hot showers – 6 single showers and 2 larger family sized rooms
- Washing up sinks with hot water – 3 sinks outside and 3 located in a covered cabin
- Drinking water tap
- Rubbish bin area for general waste and recycling
- Play area with a slide and swing
- Meadow for ball games, picnics and sun seeking
- Small shop by reception which sells logs, sweets, snacks and a few essentials (e.g toothbrushes & torches)
- Pop up bar on the meadow for some weekends.
